Biography

I am from Little Rock, Arkansas, where I grew up

and developed a passion for creating art. For my undergraduate degree, I studied at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville. At ATU, I honed my craft, and in 2021 I took first place in their student competition with my nine-foot-long painting "Freakstop". I graduated later that same year with a Bachelors In Fine Arts.

Currently, I am enrolled at the University of Memphis, where I am now studying for my Masters In Fine Arts.

One day I plan on having my art on display for the whole world to see. I want to create fantastical murals and make art that challenges the perspectives of those who view it.

Artist Statement

I have always been fascinated with strange imagery and subjects. Normal life and the monotony of it can be a bit too boring for me. This has led me to be more inquisitive and push the boundaries of what is possible when I design my work.  It is a joy to see things that are unusual, when you have something unusual it challenges your normal perspective. Seeing people trying to put together what is going on with a disturbing piece of artwork is satisfying for me. I believe that art is the experience between the art, the artist, and the audience viewing the art.

In this interaction, the artist is trying to convey a mental reaction from his/her audience. I do this by using the bizarre and somewhat confusing nature of my work to stand out and force its audience to question the narrative of my creations. I want my art to engage those who see it, by forcing them to ask themselves “why is this happening?” and “what is the story here”. Why did he paint a burger with creepy lips and what does this imply? Why did he make another burger with a bird's head as the bun? My art’s subject matter varies, but the defining feature of my work I strive for is to shock, confuse, and make people laugh.

Some people miss that there is more than one type of experience with different artists and their art. Some art is meant to just be just satisfying to look at and just bring pleasure to its audience. However, that should not be the only type of artwork; art should be a catalyst of a spectrum of wide emotions.

My art is meant to make people experience a wide range of emotions. In the end, I hope to one day discover how to make the painting equivalent of the word moist. In doing so I know that I will make a lasting impression. If everything is pleasant and nice, then we can’t enjoy those nice things anymore. We have to have discourse in order to enjoy those nice things. Everything is a joke and I find pleasure in making my art into something that can be laughed at or make someone slightly uncomfortable. That Is the experience I create for people, and that is what I will continue to create.
